The Study

Thirteen years after the atomic bombing, the cityscape of Hiroshima—then in the midst of reconstruction—and the daily lives of its people are captured here with a gaze that is quiet yet steadfast.
We hope that experiencing the world of the photobook *Hiroshima 1958*—which includes correspondence between Alain Resnais and Marguerite Duras regarding the film's production, an essay by Chihiro Minato, and supplementary texts and archival images—will offer an opportunity to quietly reflect on the passage of time in Hiroshima back then, the memories of its people, and the history this land has traversed.
